HR / Admin Officer

Elevate for Community Development is a newly established NGO, incorporated in Khartoum, Sudan as of September 2019. Elevate is a humanitarian/developmental organization focusing largely on the fields of Health, Education and Self Reliance. Elevate is looking for a qualified HR/Admin Officer.
Under the supervision of the General Director, the HR/Administrative officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the office, handling HR/administrative issues, and ensuring adherence to all Elevate HR & Administrative procedures.

Reporting: General Director

- Oversee the smooth flow of routine administrative work of the Elevate office
- Develop and implement the guidelines for office operations:
- Assume responsibilities for general office maintenance, including equipment.
Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of the office.
- Ensure office is supplied and stocked
- Draft letters for governmental institutions and others, generate memos, emails and reports when appropriate, and carry out translations when necessary.
- Follow up and maintain all relationships relevant to HR with the relevant government institutions
- Maintain strong filing system for admin and HR files
- Develop and implement guidelines for Human Resources management. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining personnel files for all Elevate Khartoum staff and ensuring that leave records, personnel files, staff lists, etc. of all staff are properly maintained and updated.
- Advise the General Director on alterations and issues regarding Admin and/or HR policies
- Exercise absolute and unquestionable secrecy on all matters regarding HR and employee issues.
- Prepare job descriptions with relevant supervisors, advertise, organize and participate in the hiring process.
- Prepare and implement welcome/exit interviews.
- Maintain tracking database for all staff, including contract type and dates, performance review dates and development pans, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Act as support for senior finance officer when and if necessary
- Stay within reasonable reach outside of office hours
- Maintains confidence of the DG and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Readiness to conduct field visits
- Carry out all documentation related tasks as needed and as directed by the DG
- Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintains a positive attitude and contributes to the healthy and friendly work environment
- Any other relevant task

- University degree or higher
- At least 2-3-year experience in an NGO or relevant work
- Good computer skills (Microsoft word, email,excel, etc.) with willingness to acquire further skills
- High level of fluency of both written and spoken English and Arabic
- Good interpersonal skills
- Punctual
- Professional attitude
- Good representational skills
